How We Determine If Your Income Is Enough

Our calculator compares your net monthly income (after estimated taxes) with typical monthly living costs in your chosen country. We analyze essential expenses like housing, food, transportation, healthcare, utilities, and other necessities to give you a clear picture of your financial situation.

The calculation starts by converting your income to the currency of your living country, then applies estimated tax rates based on your income source country. This gives us your net monthly income—the money you actually have available to spend.

Housing Affordability: A common rule of thumb suggests that housing costs (rent) should ideally stay below 30% of your net income. This guideline helps ensure you have enough money left for other essential expenses and savings. However, this is a general reference point, not financial advice—actual affordability depends on your personal circumstances and priorities.

Savings Rate: Your savings rate shows what percentage of your net income remains after covering all monthly costs. A higher savings rate means more financial buffer for emergencies, investments, or future goals. A positive savings rate indicates you're living within your means, while a negative rate means your costs exceed your income.

Lifestyle Score: This is a weighted index (0-100) that combines multiple factors: housing affordability (30%), cost pressure (25%), disposable income (25%), and basic lifestyle comfort (20%). The score is an estimate based on average market data and should not be considered a guarantee. Your actual experience may vary based on specific location, lifestyle choices, and personal circumstances.
